The Hero Dies at the End

I’m going to give away a spoiler: in the most amazing story I have ever seen, heard, or read, the hero dies in the end. They may fight the big bad and win; they might save the village, rescue a city, feed a hungry child, or turn back the tides of fate. And when all is quiet, and the cover closes, they die in the end.

They may die off the page, we may not see it, but that is how the story ends. For them. For me. For you.

There is no secret about how the last day will culminate.

You are born. You will die. What you do in between is up to you. Will anyone want to write a book about it? That’s up to you, too.
